Translate English to German to Reach German Speaking Population in US
I never thought it was important to translate English to German when I first started my personal blog but I was sorely wrong! I didn’t realize how many German speaking readers I had but because I didn’t translate my content into German properly, I lost a lot of readers. I learnt from my mistakes pretty quickly though because I didn’t want to lose any more readers.
Avoiding the Same Mistakes
I tried to translate English to German content myself with a dictionary but I soon found that didn’t work out how I wanted. I not only found my translations to be out of order and of broken German but just didn’t make sense! I started to see a loss of German speaking viewers and I got very worried because I spent a huge amount of time translating my blog into German but in all honesty, I didn’t go the right route. You cannot translate English into German by word or with the use of a dictionary because it doesn’t work!
Next thing I tried was to use machine translation. That didn’t work either. Translation was sometimes better than mine, but not by much. The problem with computer generated translation is that when using long phrases it will mix things up. The simplest tests I’ve run proved that machine translation is not something I’d put on my blog (and you can test it too: open a free translator, translate a phrase from English into German then copy the output and have it translated back to English. I’m sure you won’t like it).
Translate English to German the Right Way
Let’s be honest, you cannot take the risk of having poorly translated content online or anywhere! You can’t technically do the work yourself with a dictionary because I tried it and nothing made sense. However, I did look to employ a professional translation agency to translate English to German; proper translation tools that offered me the right way to translate. Yes, I paid for those services but let’s face it, it was well worth it to get the right content. I soon saw the difference from having professional translation services to what I had tried.
Get Value
There are always going to be many free avenues to explore but the ones I tried weren’t really suitable and didn’t work out. However, I wanted to get good value for money and I choose professional translation services so that I would know everything would be properly done and correct. I managed to reach more of the German speaking population in the US and I’m glad because it’s much better than what I tried before. I know what worked for me; will you choose to translate English to German the right or wrong way?
